Top 5 Romantic Couples' Getaways in the Peak District
Where will you escape to this Autumn...? The Peak District is the perfect setting for a couples holiday!
Autumn is a wonderful time to enjoy a romantic getaway; all the schools are back so a wave of peacefulness has engulfed the previously bustling towns and villages, the views are filled with Autumnal colours and it’s just turning cold enough to get that cosy feeling when you’re all snuggled up in the evening.
And the Peak District is the perfect setting for your romantic couples’ holiday, as there’s everything from hikes with killer views, spas and even Michelin star restaurants…
Ain’t nothing better than a spa break!
Right in the middle (and we really do mean right in the middle) of the Peak District hills, lies Losehill House Hotel & Spa. This place gives you the best of both worlds; luxury spa facilities, rooms and restaurant combined with one of the best walks in the Peak District literally at your doorstep. Hike by day and sauna by night!
They say the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach…
In the gloriously quaint village of Baslow (this seriously is a picture-perfect-village- postcard kind of stuff) there’s a Michelin star restaurant, Fischer’s, serving some of the best food in the area and also has lovely rooms. So after you’ve eaten your rich food and slurped your delicious wine, you can go straight to bed! Fischer’s in Baslow really is a wonderful setting for a romantic retreat in the Peak District.
Romantic day out in the Peak District-Just like Mr Darcy!
Pictured above: a previous art installation at Lyme Park, showing a massive Mr Darcy!
In one of the most northerly parts of the Peak District is Lyme Park, a house that no doubt you’d recognise from the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice series. The scene of the house has the very same lake that Colin Firth emerged from in his white shirt! What could be more romantic than that? Lyme Park Garden is a great idea for a romantic day out in the Peak District and is easily accessible via the A6.
Lyme Park garden is open everyday until October 30th, after that it's only open on the weekends. Click here for more info.
Relax in the heart of Bakewell this Autumn
Why not have yourself a wonderful couples’ break in Bakewell? A stay in Bakewell’s little secret would be an ideal place to recharge your batteries and explore this gorgeous village!
Snuggle up in a Peak District Barn
Enjoy a beautiful countryside retreat in one of the Tom & Douglas’ Peak District barns! It’s described as “Five star, dog friendly romantic cottage for two”, which sounds like a pretty good romantic countryside break to us!
